Ingredients

  • eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • water
  • ice

Instructions

  • Place your eggs into the bottom of your pan. The size of the pan depends on how many eggs you’re making. Once you have the eggs in place, add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the bottom of the pan and then fill the pan with cold tap water. You’ll want to fill the water to one inch above the eggs. Place the pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium high.
  • Once the water comes to a rolling boil, turn off the heat, cover the pan with a lid, and set a timer for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, drain the water from the pan, and transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water, and set a timer for 5 minutes.
  • After the 5 minute ice bath, you can peel your eggs and slice them. The baking soda in the water helps the shells come off smoothly.
