1 pound fresh green beans 1/4 cup sliced almonds spray cooking oil avocado or olive 1/4 cup water 1/4 tsp sea salt Herbed Ghee 2 tbsp ghee you can subsitute butter 1/2 tsp dried thyme 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp sea salt 1/8 tsp black pepper
Prepare herbed butter by combining all ingredients in a small mixing bowl, set aside
Wash and trim green beans, pat dry
Heat a large pan to medium-high heat and generously spray with oil
Add green beans to pan and stir to coat with oil
Allow to cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes
Add 1/4 cup water and 1/4 tsp sea salt, cover, and allow to simmer for about 6 minutes, until green beans become tender and water has evaporated
Stir in almonds and herbed butter, allow to cook uncovered for 2 minutes on medium heat
Remove from heat and enjoy!
Use plant-based butter or olive oil for a completely dairy-free and vegan version.
Watch the sliced almonds closely because they can burn quickly.
For a brighter flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice immediately before serving.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
