Bananas & Cream
With all of the unhealthy desserts I’ve made lately, I’ve decided it is time to share one of my favorite HEALTHY DESSERTS: Bananas & Cream!
It’s just 3 super simple ingredients, but it’s healthy, and it can be made dairy free, and it’s absolutely delicious! So let’s get to the yummy part!
Bananas & Cream Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/4 cup whipped cream
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Directions:
Slice banana into a bowl. Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of maple syrup.
It doesn’t get any easier than that, so this is definitely an easy dessert to make on short notice. It also travels well when you leave it deconstructed. Just slice the banana when you get to your destination and assemble it there! Multiply the ingredients to feed more people as this is just one individual serving.
Dairy Free/Vegan Option
ReddiWhip makes both Almond and Coconut dairy free whipped cream options that taste delicious. So Delicious also makes a coconut whipped cream that is a great alternative for this recipe!
Whipped Cream
Any whipped cream you choose will work here, but I suggest staying away from ones loaded with sugar and hydrogenated oils to maintain the healthy aspect of the dessert. ReddiWhip is low in fat and comes in a variety of options, including extra creamy, almond, and coconut!
Ingredient Substitutions
If you don’t have maple syrup and don’t follow a vegan diet, Honey is a delicious alternative.
A dash of cinnamon is always a great addition as well!
Strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries are excellent alternatives to the banana in this recipe.
