When you can’t have gluten, you can’t order takeout from the local Chinese restaurant, which means you’ll end up feeling like you’re missing out on your favorite foods. Well in comes this Chinese Pork Fried Rice Recipe that is gluten free and dairy free to give you all the flavors you’ve been missing out on!

CHINESE PORK FRIED RICE RECIPE
I started this gluten free recipe blog because when I had to eliminate gluten from my diet, I felt like I was missing out on all of my favorite foods. And that just wasn’t going to work for me, so I got busy in my kitchen learning to cook with gluten free ingredients and felt compelled to share my creations with the world. No one should feel deprived just because our bodies can’t digest gluten properly. And we definitely should have to miss out on good Chinese “takeout.”
So if you’ve been missing Chinese takeout like I have, this Gluten Free Pork Fried Rice recipe is for YOU! It is made with gluten free ingredients and it is also soy free as well! So let’s get to the ingredients…
INGREDIENTS:
Pork: I like using ground pork for this recipe, but you can use thin boneless chops cut into small pieces or dice a pork tenderloin into tiny pieces. All options work great, but the ground pork tends to cook a little faster and it’s great if you’re on a budget because a pound costs less $3. If using pork chops or tenderloin, smaller pieces will cook faster If you don’t eat pork, you can substitute finely diced chicken breasts or ground chicken and have a tasty gluten free chicken fried rice
White rice: Jasmine rice is my favorite, but any white long grain rice or brown rice will do. Cook fresh rice according to package directions or use a rice cooker. Use rice packets for a quick and easy shortcut or buy dry rice for a more budget friendly option. The kind of rice you use is completely up to you, and this dish is a great way to use up leftover rice
Coconut aminos: I prefer coconut aminos to soy sauce because coconut aminos are naturally gluten free and some grocery stores do not carry gluten free soy sauce. Coconut aminos have also been touted as a healthier alternative to soy. Tamari is gluten free and cheaper than coconut aminos, so feel free to use tamari if you don’t mind soy
Sesame oil: Do not omit this ingredient! Sesame oil is what gives this pork fried rice its authentic Chinese takeout flavor
Peas & Carrots: if you can find frozen peas and carrots together, please use them! You’ll just need a cup for this recipe. If using separate peas and carrots, make sure you finely dice the carrots and use ½ cup of peas and ½ cup of carrots
Onion: yellow, white, and sweet onions work best for this recipe, and you can buy them already diced at most grocery stores for ease and convenience on busy nights. Green onions are also a nice addition
Eggs: use whole eggs or liquid eggs, whichever you prefer, just make sure to scramble them
Avocado oil: I prefer the neutral flavor and high smoke point of avocado oil for this recipe, but if you only have olive oil or vegetable oil on hand, that will work in a pinch! Most times I use avocado oil spray to cut back on the fat content in this rice dish
Salt: If using coconut aminos or low sodium tamari, you’ll need to add salt. If using soy sauce, taste it before adding salt because soy sauce is naturally salty.

Favorite mix-ins:
Fresh veggies like broccoli, bean sprouts, and bok choy, fresh bell peppers
Red pepper flakes to add heat
Fish sauce
Oyster sauce
Hoisin sauce
HOW TO MAKE CHINESE PORK FRIED RICE:
- Cook rice according to package directions and set aside
- Spray a deep skillet or wok with cooking oil (I use avocado oil spray) add eggs, scramble over medium-high heat until cooked through. Transfer to a bowl and set aside
- In that same deep skillet, add another tablespoon of cooking oil or cooking spray, pork, peas, carrots, and onions, and cook over medium heat, stirring often, until the pork is no longer pink and the veggies are tender
- Add cooked rice to the skillet and stir in coconut aminos, sesame oil
- Add the scrambled eggs to the skillet and stir to combine
- Add salt and pepper to taste and serve immediately

One of the best things about this dish is that is tastes like good Chinese food, it’s made with simple ingredients, and it’s a complete meal made in one skillet!
