Gluten Free Teriyaki Shrimp Sushi Bowls
These Gluten Free Teriyaki Shrimp Sushi Bowls will give you major hibachi vibes! They are made with healthy ingredients and are loaded with the flavors you expect in a sushi roll!

Gluten Free Teriyaki Shrimp Sushi Bowls
Not being able to eat gluten makes dining out a challenge, especially with the risk of cross-contamination. And when you’re craving teriyaki sauce, you have to hunt down a gluten free version because soy sauce is made with wheat and teriyaki sauce is made with soy sauce.
These Gluten Free Teriyaki Shrimp Sushi Bowls are the answer to your hibachi cravings! And they’re a breeze to put together, especially with a few shortcuts.
What ingredients you need to make Teriyaki Shrimp Sushi Bowls:
- Cooked and peeled shrimp
- Gluten free teriyaki sauce (use regular if not gluten free)
- Avocado oil
- White rice
- Shredded carrots
- Cucumber
- Avocado
- Coconut aminos, optional
- Seaweed chips, optional
How to make Teriyaki Shrimp Sushi Bowls:
- Add avocado oil and shrimp to a deep skillet and turn heat to medium. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Pour teriyaki sauce over shrimp and stir to combine, cover with a lid and turn heat to low to keep warm
- Cook rice according to package directions
- Dice your cucumbers and avocado and set aside
- In a bowl or on a plate, add your white rice and top it with the teriyaki shrimp. Add diced cucumbers, diced avocado, shredded carrots, and a drizzle of coconut aminos or more gluten free teriyaki sauce
- Serve with seaweed chips (optional) and enjoy!

Shortcuts:
I am all about taking shortcuts in the kitchen so I can spend more time with my family and less time cooking. To make this meal quickly, follow these shortcuts and you’ll be eating in about 20 minutes!
Shrimp: Buy cooked, peeled, and de-veined shrimp. Thaw ahead of time to make the cooking process even quicker. Or go the extra mile and buy cocktail shrimp because they are already thawed and warm in the skillet much quicker
Rice: I keep my pantry stocked with rice packets for nights I want to make a delicious home-cooked meal in minutes. Any white rice will do, and the packets cook in about 90 seconds
Carrots: Grab a bag of shredded carrots from the grocery store so all you have to do is open the package and sprinkle them on. You can cook the carrots if you want, but I usually keep them raw like in a sushi roll
Gluten Free Teriyaki Sauce:
Gluten free teriyaki sauce can be difficult to find in stores, but most groceries carry at least one option. I really like the Simple Truth Organic Sesame Teriyaki from Kroger (they own several other stores across the US). Primal Kitchen also makes a Gluten Free No Soy Teriyaki Sauce with clean ingredients. And La Choy Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce is available in many different grocery stores.
