Disney Inspired Tigger Tails (Easy Copycat Recipe)

Please share!

If you’ve ever visited Disneyland, you’ve probably spotted the famous Tigger Tails—a fun, colorful treat inspired by Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. These marshmallow pops are coated in caramel, dipped in bright orange candy coating, rolled in sparkling orange sanding sugar, and finished with chocolate stripes that resemble Tigger’s iconic orange and black fur.

While you can find Tigger Tails at Disneyland Resort, you don’t need a Disney vacation to enjoy them. This easy copycat recipe brings the magic home with a simple shortcut that’s perfect for making with kids.

Instead of the traditional method of melting individual caramel candies (which can be messy and difficult to get to the perfect consistency), this recipe uses Ghirardelli Caramel Sauce in a squeeze bottle. Simply drizzle it over the marshmallows, spread it into an even layer, and you’re ready for the candy coating. It’s faster, less stressful, and creates the same delicious caramel flavor without all the extra work.

Whether you’re planning a Disney movie night, a Winnie the Pooh birthday party, or just looking for a fun afternoon activity, these Disney inspired Tigger Tails are sure to bring smiles to everyone around the table.

What Are Tigger Tails?

Inspired by the sweet treat sold at Disneyland, Tigger Tails are made with marshmallows coated in caramel, dipped in bright orange candy coating, rolled in orange sanding sugar, and decorated with chocolate stripes. Their bright orange color and playful stripes are inspired by Tigger from Disney’s beloved Winnie the Pooh.

This homemade version captures the same whimsical look while using simple ingredients you can find at most grocery stores.

Ingredients

Ingredient Notes

Regular Marshmallows

Instead of using jumbo marshmallows, stack four regular marshmallows onto each popsicle stick. This creates the same long shape as the Disneyland version while using ingredients that are easier to find at almost any grocery store.

Ghirardelli Caramel Sauce

This is my favorite shortcut! Instead of unwrapping dozens of caramel candies and trying to melt them to the perfect consistency, simply drizzle a generous layer of caramel sauce over the stacked marshmallows and spread it with the back of a spoon. It’s quicker, easier, and makes this recipe much more kid friendly.

Orange Melting Wafers

Orange melting wafers give these treats their bright orange coating and are much easier to work with than white chocolate. I’ll link my favorite brand below.

Orange Sanding Sugar

Don’t skip the sanding sugar! It gives these Tigger Tails their signature sparkle and a slight crunch that makes them look just like the Disneyland version.

Chocolate Melting Wafers

A quick drizzle of melted chocolate creates Tigger’s signature stripes and finishes off these adorable Disney inspired treats.

How to Make Disney Inspired Tigger Tails

Step 1

Insert a popsicle stick through the center of four regular marshmallows, stacking them on top of one another.

Place the marshmallow pops on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Step 2

Generously drizzle caramel sauce over each marshmallow pop.

Using the back of a spoon or a small offset spatula, spread the caramel evenly over all four marshmallows.

Freeze for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the caramel firms up.

Step 3

Melt the orange melting wafers according to the package directions.

Dip each caramel coated marshmallow pop into the melted orange candy coating, turning to coat all sides.

Allow any excess candy coating to drip off.

Step 4

Immediately sprinkle each marshmallow pop with orange sanding sugar (you can do one side or all sides)

Place back onto the parchment paper and allow the coating to harden.

Step 5

Melt the chocolate melting wafers.

Using a spoon in a zigzag pattern, drizzle chocolate stripes across each Tigger Tail to resemble Tigger’s tiger stripes.

Allow the chocolate to harden completely before serving. Place your Tigger Tails in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to speed up the process.

Tips for the Best Tigger Tails

  • Freeze the caramel before dipping for the smoothest candy coating.
  • Four regular marshmallows create the perfect Disneyland inspired shape.
  • Use a tall measuring cup for easier dipping.
  • Let kids decorate the chocolate stripes for a fun family activity.
  • Allow the candy coating to harden completely before serving.
  • Store upright in a glass while the coating sets for the neatest finish.
